Political scientist with more than 15 years of experience in the area of corporate communications and public relations. Marcela holds the position of Communications Head in Colombia & Peru for Sanofi, leading all strategic communication projects that ensure business success and strengthen the image and commitment of employees in both countries.
Marcela studied Political Science with an emphasis in Political Participation at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, based in Bogotá. Additionally, she completed a Diploma in Public Relations at the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá and a course in Image Management at the University of La Sabana.
She began her career as Project Coordinator of Education, Arts and Culture at the British Council, later serving as coordinator of the Gazette of Congress in the National Press of Colombia.
Later, in 2007 Marcela joined Sanofi Genzyme where she worked as Public Relations Manager. In 2013, she worked as Senior Communications Manager at Johnson & Johnson Medical, being responsible for Colombia, Venezuela, Central America and the Caribbean. A year later she joined Sanofi again, this time to take on the challenge of Public Relations and Advocacy management for Sanofi Pasteur, Andean region, Central America and the Caribbean, where he stood out for leadind the company to gain the Equipares Seal program, awarded by the Ministry of Labor in Colombia.
In 2016, she assumed the role of public affairs manager for Sanofi in Colombia and Peru and in August 2017 she assumed the position she currently holds, in which he is responsible for developing, implementing and executing the company’s internal and external communications strategies. , which includes leadership in issues of diversity, inclusion and gender balance.
