María Inés is a Sociologist and holds a Master’s Degree in International Development from Cornell University (Ithaca, New York). Ms. María Inés Salamanca is the Coordinator of the UN Women Chile office. Before that, she worked as Advisor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.
She is currently responsible for UN Women projects linked to the elimination of violence against women and girls, economic empowerment and the leadership and political participation of women. Also within the lines of action is support for civil society organizations that promote gender equality in Chile.
She started her career as a UN Volunteer (UNV) and launched the first social responsibility and volunteering website for Latin America.
