Courtney McCarthy oversees Google’s Women’s and Kids Media Strategy on the Computer Science Education team. They strive to diversify and change the perception of Computer Science in media, so as to inspire more women and underrepresented groups to become creators of technology.
Courtney grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota and graduated from Chapman University in Orange, CA with a Bachelor in Advertising and Public Relations. Previously, Courtney was at Fox Broadcasting Company, working in Marketing Strategy and Media Promotions.
There she drafted campaign plans and created online promotions for all Fox’s primetime TV shows. Prior to that, she worked in Home Entertainment at Lionsgate and at NBC Universal’s Focus Features.
