Gideon BadagawaExecutive Director, Private Sector Foundation (PSFU), Uganda

Mr Badagawa is the Executive Director, Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU). Before rejoining PSFU in January 2010, he was Executive Director of the Uganda Manufacturers Association. Previously he had worked with PSFU for 9 years as Director, Policy Analysis and Advocacy. Prior to these assignments he had taught at the Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics, Makerere University since 1991 in the fields of Economic Policy, Development planning and Applied Statistics. He also supervised research at post graduate level.
Mr Badagawa was Chair of the Taskforce that designed the 5-year National Competitiveness Strategy 2011-2015. He also Chaired the Taskforce that designed the implementation of the Business, Technical, Vocational education and Training (BTVET) Strategy. Mr Badagawa sits on various Boards including the National Planning Authority (NPA) Board, The Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company Ltd (UECCCL) Board, the Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC) Expanded Board (on Policy Research), and Chaired the Steering Committee for the Uganda Country Capacity Building programme (UCCBP). Mr Badagawa has also recently been appointed to the NEMA Board.
Mr Badagawa holds a Masters Degree in Development Economics from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands (1995), as well as a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands (1998).
Mr Badagawa has received various awards including the Advanced Leadership Merit Award for Private Sector Development from the Institute of Advanced Leadership and has also been recognised under the Pearl of Africa Lifetime Achievers Awards.
