Richard Barathe is the Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Regional Hub for Latin America and the Caribbean. He has 20 years of progressive experience in development, both within the programme and in technical advisory functions, as well as UNDP senior management in several regional and country contexts: Chief of the Country and Regional Programme Team/RBLAC; UNDP Country Director in Guatemala; UNDP Deputy Resident Representative for El Salvador & Belize; and Senior Partnerships Adviser for the Regional Bureau for Africa in New York, among others. Mr. Barathe has more than 16 years of experience at the country level in seven different countries.

Mr. Barathe holds a DESS (Master 2) in International Studies from the Université de Paris XI (Paris-Sud).
