Bachelor in Sociology and Political Science and has a master degree in Political Sociology, by the Universidad Central del Ecuador.
Her professional background varies from the fields of:
- Gender History Research (1989-1991),
- Human Rights as she was the executive secretary of Amnesty International in Ecuador (1991-1996),
- Trade Union education at the Ecuadorean National Trade Union Center-CEOSL (1997-2001)
- She started working for Public Services International-PSI in 2002, as Project Coordinator for the Andean Region in the field of educating and organizing women, equality and sectorial organizing. Since 2015, she was appointed as the Gender Equality Officer.
